Rayat Bahra University

Rayat Bahra University is situated out at Vpo Sahauran, which is near Kharar in the Mohali area. It’s a fairly large campus, so there is always a lot of walking involved to get from the main gate to the different departments. You’ll see students hanging out on the lawns or sitting on the steps of the buildings between their classes. It’s a busy place with a lot of different things going on at once. There is a canteen that is usually packed with people getting tea or a quick snack, and that’s where most of the socializing happens. Because it’s a bit outside the main city, many people take the university buses to get here, so the mornings and evenings are always a bit chaotic with buses arriving and leaving. The buildings are a mix of older and newer structures, and some of the labs have quite a lot of equipment in them. We have a library that stays open late, and you’ll often see students in there trying to finish their projects. The teachers have their offices scattered around the campus, and they are usually busy with their own research or grading papers. It’s a university, so it feels quite big, but once you’ve been here for a while, you start to recognize the same faces every day. It’s a place for people who want to get their degrees and move on to the next thing. The grass on the cricket ground usually needs a bit of a trim.
