Down on Kuranwala Barwala Road in Derabassi, you will find our factory. It is a long drive out for some, but for us, it is just where we go every morning. The sound of the headers and thread rollers is the first thing you hear when you pull into the yard. We make fasteners—screws, bolts, and all those small things that hold bigger machines together. The floors are usually a bit oily, and there are metal shavings in the bins, which is expected in a place like this. We have been here for years, and many of the workers have been with us since the beginning. We eat lunch together in the shade when it is hot, talking about our families or the local news. There is no corporate lobby with a receptionist; you just walk in and find whoever is on the floor. We keep the machines running as long as we have orders to fill, and sometimes that means staying late into the evening. The trucks come and go on Barwala Road, taking our crates to different cities. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team telling people how great we are. We just focus on making sure the threads are right and the metal is strong enough for the job. It is honest work, and we take some pride in knowing our parts are out there in the world holding things together.
