Working at Dr. Edwin Lab in Phase 9 Industrial Area means getting used to a lot of noise and movement. Plot No. 517 is right in the middle of everything, surrounded by other units and the sound of heavy trucks moving goods all day. I usually get here early before the sun gets too high because the industrial area can get very dusty and hot by midday. The building is a sturdy structure, built for function rather than looking pretty. We don’t have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. Instead, it is mostly about the workbenches and the equipment we use every day. Walking from the parking area to the entrance, you can smell the grease and exhaust from the nearby factories. It is a busy place to be. Inside, we keep things as tidy as possible, but it is a working lab, so there is always something being moved or cleaned. We have a small corner where we keep the kettle for tea, which is the most important part of the afternoon. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of life in Phase 9. People who come to find us at Plot No. 517 usually know where they are going, as the industrial plots are laid out in a big grid. It is a practical environment where we focus on getting the tasks done without any unnecessary fuss or bother.
