Over at A-34 Industrial Area Phase-VIII, you’ll find the Cdac office. It’s a bit of a different vibe compared to some of the heavy manufacturing nearby. We spend a lot of time indoors at our desks. The building is pretty functional, and it’s located in a part of Phase VIII that has grown a lot lately. There are always people walking around with laptops and talking about technical stuff. It’s a lot of sitting and typing, really. We have some meeting rooms that get used quite a bit, though most of the real work happens at the workstations. The air conditioning is usually humming in the background, which is a necessity here. It’s not a very exciting place to look at from the outside, just another industrial plot turned into a workspace. We get our tea from the local stall down the road. Sometimes we stay late when a project is nearing the end, and the whole place feels a bit different then. We don’t bother with much corporate talk among ourselves; we just focus on whatever code or system we are dealing with. It’s a quiet sort of busy. You won’t see many people rushing around, but everyone is usually pretty focused on their screens. It’s a steady environment, and we’ve been here long enough that the commute feels like second nature now. We keep some snacks in the drawer for when the afternoon slump hits. The building has seen better days but the workspace inside is fine.
