Big Ship Consultants LLP is tucked away in F 39A Gold Homes. It’s actually a pretty decent spot to work from. We’re not in a big glass building downtown, and we prefer it that way because it is easier to focus. The office is basically a room we converted, so it has a lived-in feel to it. You’ll see some old coffee mugs on the desks and maybe a sweater hanging off a chair if it’s chilly out. We spend a lot of our time on the phone or looking at spreadsheets. It isn't glamorous, but it keeps the lights on and things running. Sometimes the neighbors walk their dogs past our window while we are in the middle of a meeting. It’s just life happening right outside. We’ve been here long enough that we know when the mail arrives almost to the minute. The name sounds quite large, but we are just a small group trying to do our jobs well. We don’t have big corporate lunches or anything. Usually, someone goes out to grab some local food and we eat while we work or chat about what happened over the weekend. Our desks are a bit cluttered with notes we’ve scribbled to ourselves. It might look messy to someone else, but we know exactly where everything is. We don’t really do fancy presentations. We just talk to people and figure things out. It’s a simple setup at Gold Homes, and it works.
