Satguru Rice Mill

Satguru Rice Mill is out in Village Kihiva, on the Mihan Singh Wala Road. It’s a quiet area compared to the big towns, but we stay plenty busy. Being in a village means we are right in the middle of where the rice grows. We see the fields change from green to gold from our front door. The mill itself is a functional building. We don't care much for decorations. We care about the machines running smooth. The Mihan Singh Wala Road gets a bit bumpy in the rainy season, but the trucks still make it through. We have a small team of workers from the village. Most of us have known each other since we were kids. It makes working together easy. We don't have any formal meetings. We just talk over tea in the morning about what needs to be done. It’s a simple way of living and working. The air out here is a bit fresher, though the mill gets its share of dust. We process the grain and load it onto the transport. There’s a rhythm to it that feels right. We don't need to be in a big city. Village Kihiva is where we belong. It’s a humble operation, but it keeps us busy and the village moving. We’re just part of the landscape here on the road. We deal with the harvests as they come and try to keep things simple and honest.
