Gupta Roller Flour Mills

Gupta Roller Flour Mills is situated on Ara Road. It’s a big, functional building where we grind grain all day long. If you drive past, you can probably hear the rollers spinning. The whole place has a thin layer of white flour over everything, no matter how much we clean. It’s just the nature of the business. We get trucks coming in early in the morning filled with wheat, and by evening, we are loading up bags of flour to go out. It’s physical work and it can get really hot inside during the summer months. We don’t have any fancy office space here; the desk is right near the loading dock so we can see what’s going on. Ara Road is usually busy with heavy vehicles, so it can be a bit of a struggle to get the trucks turned around. We’ve got a small crew of guys who have been with us for a long time. They know the machines better than anyone. We don’t spend much on advertising because people just know we are here. Most of our time is spent checking the grind and making sure the bags are stitched up properly. It’s a loud, dusty, and honest way to make a living. We stop for tea at four o'clock every day, and that's usually the only time the machines are silent.
