If you come to Khosa Pando, you can usually smell the spices before you even see our building. We are located on Zira Road. It’s a good location for what we do at Paras Spices. The air is always thick with the scent of whatever we are grinding or mixing that day. Sometimes it makes the new guys sneeze for a week until they get used to it. We are a small group of people just trying to make a living. It’s a lot of heavy bags and dusty floors around here. We don't spend much time in the office because there is way too much to do in the warehouse. The village is small, so everyone knows who works here and what we are up to. We get our supplies from the local area mostly. It’s honest, physical work. We don't have a marketing department or any glossy brochures. We just sell what we make. The machines need a lot of oiling and care to keep them running. We do most of that maintenance ourselves. The trucks line up on Zira Road when it is time to load up the finished product. It can get a bit chaotic when three arrive at once. We just take it one bag at a time. It’s been this way for a long time. Some of us have worked here since we were young. It’s just our daily routine. We wake up, come in, and get to work.
