Guru Nanak Public Senior Secondary School

You can find us on Guru Gobind Singh Marg in Bilaspur, which is part of the Moga district. It’s a rural area, mostly surrounded by fields. The school is a senior secondary one, and it serves a lot of families from the surrounding countryside. Every morning, you see the yellow buses and cycles coming down the road. It’s a pretty simple life here. The school building is large enough to hold all the classes, but it’s not anything extravagant. We have a lot of open ground, which is good for the morning assembly and for the kids to play during their lunch break. The air is usually fresh, though it smells like the crops during harvest time. We have a team of teachers and helpers who live nearby. Most of the talk in the office is about the weather or local news. We don't have a lot of modern frills. We use textbooks and write on the boards. Life is about the routine of the bells and the changing seasons. When it rains, the ground gets soft, and we have to be careful with the mud. It’s a practical place for learning. We spend our time managing the classes and making sure the school property is looked after. It’s just a quiet, hardworking school in a corner of Punjab.
