Ganesh Rice & Gen Mills

Ganesh Rice & Gen Mills is over on Mudki Road in Bagha Purana. We are directly across from the Shanker Dharam Kanda, which makes it very convenient for everyone to get their loads weighed before they come into our yard. It’s a busy place, especially when the season is at its peak. We have a mix of old and new machinery inside. The sound is pretty overwhelming when everything is running at once, so we mostly communicate with hand signals on the floor. It’s not a polished environment. There are piles of bags everywhere and the walls are stained from years of use. We don't use any marketing speak or talk about missions. We are just a local mill doing what we've always done. I spend a lot of my time making sure the belts on the machines don't slip. We have a small group of workers who are like family to us. We eat our lunch together on the loading dock when it’s quiet. The road outside can get very dusty, so we are always splashing water down to keep it settled. We keep our books by hand and keep things straightforward. If someone has a problem, they just come and talk to me. There are no forms to fill out or managers to go through. It’s just us here, working the grain and trying to keep the business steady.
