Ahindera Rice & General Mills

We are situated over on Nihal Singh Wala Road, operating as Ahindera Rice & General Mills. It is a regular spot where we handle all sorts of grain processing, mostly rice of course. The yard can get pretty crowded when the harvest comes in. We have got the dryers and the mill units all set up in the main shed. It gets pretty loud in there when everything is running at once. We usually have a lot of tea while we wait for the trucks to unload and the paperwork to get finished. Most of the folks who work here have been with us for years, so we all know the routine by now. It is not always easy, especially when the machinery decides to quit on a busy Tuesday afternoon. We do our own maintenance mostly because it is faster. Nihal Singh Wala Road is a busy stretch, and we are right in the middle of it. You can see our stacks from a distance if the air is clear. We do not spend much time in the office; we would rather be out where the grain is moving. It is a dusty business, but it keeps us going. We try to treat everyone fair and just get the work finished. There is no secret to it, just keeping the engines oiled and the bags moving. Sometimes we stay late to finish a batch if a driver is in a hurry. That is just how we run things here on the road.
