K. L. Handicrafts is based right here in the Laldiggi area. If you know the neighborhood, you know it’s got its own pace. We’ve been in this spot for years, and not much has changed in the way we do things. The workshop is usually filled with the smell of wood and polish. It’s a bit of a messy place, to be honest, with wood shavings on the floor and tools scattered across the benches. We don't try to make it look like a showroom because it’s a place where things actually get made. Most of our day is spent working with our hands, carving or fixing pieces that come through. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the craft. People around Laldiggi know to find us if they need something handmade. We don't do much advertising; word of mouth has always been enough for us. The building is old and the roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains hard, but it’s our space. We sit outside on the stools when the weather is nice and take our breaks. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We aren’t trying to become a giant company. We just want to keep making our crafts and staying part of the local scene here. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy. Some days the cuts are hard and the wood is stubborn, but we finish it.
