Shilpi Traders

You can find Shilpi Traders at Gayatri Bhawan in Ghurahhupatti. It’s a local shop where we keep a bit of everything on the shelves. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit as much stock as we can into the room. We have shelves that go all the way to the ceiling, so we use an old wooden ladder when someone needs something from the top. The floor is made of grey tiles that we mop every morning before we open the shutters. It’s a neighborhood place, so we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. We don’t have a computer system for the sales; we just write everything down in a thick book and use a calculator to figure out the change. The lighting isn't great, especially in the back corners, but we have a few extra bulbs we turn on when it gets dark. Most of the day is just spent restocking things or chatting with the neighbors. It's not a high-pressure environment. We don't have "sales of the month" or anything like that. If we have it, we sell it to you at a fair price. The building, Gayatri Bhawan, is easy enough to spot once you get into Ghurahhupatti. We’re just a small trading spot trying to provide what the local folks need without making a big fuss about it. We stay open until late evening.
