It’s an old part of the area, and our building has a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit steep if you aren't careful. We deal in carpets, and we’ve been doing it for quite a while now. The space is filled with the smell of natural fibers. We don't have a big sign with flashing lights; people usually find us because they’ve heard about us from someone else. It's a quiet kind of work. We spend hours looking over the weaves and making sure everything is sitting right. Sometimes we sit on the floor to do the work because it’s easier than using a table. We don't have a website that looks like a magazine. We just have our carpets and our shop. The light comes in through the old windows in the afternoon, and that’s the best time to see the true colors of the yarn. We have tea together in the late afternoon when the sun starts to go down. It’s a simple routine. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the business. We talk to the weavers and we talk to the people who want something for their homes. There's no pressure here. We just show what we have and let the work speak for itself. It’s just how we’ve always done it here.
