Our business is based out in Mathana village, right next to the Allahabad Bank. If you are heading towards the Narayanpur post office or coming through the Chunar area, you will probably see our yard full of bricks and stones. We have been serving this part of the tehsil for a long time now. It is a quiet place for the most part, though things get a bit loud when the big trucks arrive with fresh loads of material. We keep all the basic stuff like sand, pipes, and aggregate that people need for building houses around here. The office is small and usually smells like old paper and tea. We do not do any big advertising; word just travels from one person to another in the village. Sometimes the yard gets muddy after a big storm, so we have to be careful where we stack things. It is just a few of us working here, so we handle everything from taking the money to helping load the materials onto the tractors. We like the pace of life in Mathana. It is nice to be right beside the bank because we see a lot of people passing by on their errands. We just try to keep enough stock on hand so that when a neighbor starts a project, we have what they need ready to go. There is always something to move or organize, which keeps us on our toes throughout the day.
