Jai Hind Granite

If you are driving down Mira Bhayandar Road, you will see Jai Hind Granite right opposite the Sai Petrol Pump. Being in Bhyadar (E) means there is always a lot of traffic passing by our front gate. We get a lot of noise from the road and the petrol pump across the way, but you get used to it after a few days of working here. We keep our stone out where people can see it from the street. It’s a lot of work keeping everything sorted and labeled. We spend most of our time unloading trucks that come in with new blocks and slabs. Some days are slow and we just tidy up the yard, and other days it feels like everyone wants to look at granite at the same time. We don't really do much advertising; people just see us when they are getting fuel or stuck in traffic. We have all sorts of colors and finishes sitting out there. The sun hits the polished ones and makes them shine, which helps people notice the shop. We try to keep things straightforward. If someone likes a piece, we mark it for them with a piece of chalk. It’s a basic operation. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a while and have seen many shops come and go. We just stay focused on our yard and the slabs we have. It is just a simple way to earn a living and we like it.
