We spend most of our days here in Salboni, working out of this spot in West Midnapur. It’s a busy place with a lot of movement. You see trucks coming and going all the time. The air often smells of dust and hard work, but that’s just how it is around here. Some of us have been in this part of Bengal for a long time. We know the roads and the way the weather changes the pace of things. It isn't a fancy office. We have desks, some chairs that have seen better days, and a lot of paperwork to keep track of. The local tea stall is where most of the actual talking happens during breaks. It’s mostly just us trying to get the day’s tasks done without too much trouble. Sometimes the power goes out, or the rain makes the roads a bit of a mess, but we manage. People stop by, usually looking for someone specific or asking about a delivery. We don't have a big receptionist area or anything like that. You just walk in and find whoever is around. It’s a practical setup. We handle the cement side of things and try to keep the orders moving along. It’s just regular work in a quiet corner of the district. We’ve grown used to the rhythm of the place. It's not glamorous, but it’s what we do every day. We hope the coffee gets better one day, but for now, we just keep busy.
