My spot is at A-45, right on the Market Yard Main Line. If you know anything about the market yard, you know it’s never quiet. From early morning, the place is full of trucks, porters, and the sound of people shouting. I’ve been here for a long time, and I mostly handle the day-to-day trading. My name is on the sign, and I’m usually sitting right there at the front. It’s a dusty place, and the floors are never quite clean no matter how much we sweep. That is just the nature of being in the middle of a wholesale market. I don’t have a big staff, just a few reliable guys who help with the loading and the accounts. We don’t bother with fancy brochures or anything like that. People know where I am if they need to talk business. We drink tea from the guy who walks around with the kettle, and we talk about the market prices. It’s a straightforward life. Some days the trade is good, other days it’s slow. I like the routine of it, honestly. It’s about being there every day, being fair, and keeping the records straight. The address is easy to find because we are right on the main line. If you come by, you’ll see us busy with some sacks or on the phone. It’s not a polished corporate office, but it’s where real business happens.
