You will find us behind the G. G. S Station in Nandasan. We are right there in the Kadi area of Mehsana. Our work involves a lot of tiles. We send them down south and also handle the export side of things. It is a very industrial area and there is always a lot of dust in the air from all the construction and moving trucks. The warehouse is big because tiles take up a lot of space and they are heavy. We spend our days checking for cracked pieces and making sure the crates are packed tight so they don't break during the journey. It is hard work on the back and we are usually covered in some kind of grit by the end of the shift. The weather in Gujarat can be really tough in the summer but we just keep the fans running. We don't have a polished showroom. Most people just come straight to the back where the station is to find us. We keep a ledger of all the loads that go out. Sometimes the transport trucks are late and we have to sit around and wait. It’s not a glamorous job but it is what we know. We just focus on the inventory and making sure the right patterns go to the right customers. It is a lot of lifting and counting every single day of the week to make sure the orders are complete before the trucks leave.
