Simt Classes

You can find Simt Classes over in Shanti Kunj, which is off Rohta Road. We are pretty close to Star Public School, so a lot of people use that as a reference point. The street here is a bit narrower than the main road, which is nice because it’s a little quieter. I set up the classes in this building because it had good natural light in the afternoons. I spend a lot of my time just sitting at the small wooden desk near the entrance. We have about twenty chairs in the main room, and they usually fill up pretty quickly. I try to keep the place tidy, but with students coming and going, there’s always a bit of paper on the floor. Rohta Road has changed a lot since I first came to Meerut City, but this corner remains mostly the same. I have a small shelf where I keep all the old textbooks and some registers. Sometimes the bell at the school nearby rings and we know exactly what time it is without looking at the clock. It’s a very local feel here. I know most of the shopkeepers on the way to the building. We just do the work, day in and day out. It’s not a big operation, just a few rooms where we go over the subjects. It’s a steady way to spend the day in Meerut.
