Madhe Dep Inter College

Madhe Dep Inter College is a familiar sight for anyone living near Jail Chungi in Meerut. We have been sitting here in this part of Uttar Pradesh for a long time, watching the city grow up around us. The school building is an old-fashioned style with high ceilings and wide hallways that echo when the students run through them. It is a noisy, energetic place during the day. We have kids from all sorts of backgrounds coming here for their intermediate studies. The classrooms have the old heavy desks and chalkboards that we still use every day. In the winter, it gets quite chilly in the rooms, so everyone stays wrapped up in their sweaters while the teachers go through the lessons. Our courtyard is the main hub where everything happens, from morning assemblies to sports during the afternoon. The teachers have been here for years, and they know most of the shopkeepers and residents in the neighborhood by name. We don't have a lot of fancy technology or air-conditioned halls, just the basics that are needed for a decent education. It’s a bit chaotic sometimes, especially when school lets out and the cycles jam up the street outside, but that is just how life is in Meerut. We keep the gates open and keep the classes moving, day after day, without making much of a fuss about it.
