Krishna Bricks Industry

If you’re driving down Baghpat Road, you’ll find Krishna Bricks Industry. We are quite close to the Pura Mahadev Mandir, so we hear the temple sounds throughout the day. It’s a nice place to be, even if the work is hard and the sun gets really hot in the summer. We have a lot of space out here to stack the bricks. We don’t use fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is done by hand. People around here know us as the local brick place. We don’t do big TV ads or anything. Most people just see the stacks from the road or hear about us from a neighbor who was building a wall or a small house. The workers stay on-site and we’ve become like a little community. It gets very dusty on the road, so we are always cleaning off the desks in the small office. We try to keep the bricks moving so they don't sit too long. It’s honest work and we don't try to make it sound like something it isn't. It’s just earth and water and heat. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out quite right, and we have to figure out why, but that’s just part of the job. We've been on this road for years and plan to stay here for many more. The trucks usually start arriving around seven in the morning to pick up their loads.
