Kingsway Nursery

We start our days pretty early here in Village Shajapur. Most of us are up before the sun really gets hot because once it does, working outside becomes a whole different story. Kingsway Nursery isn’t a big fancy place with a glass front. It’s mostly just rows and rows of plants in black plastic bags and some bigger trees we’ve been tending to for a few seasons now. You’ll find mud on just about everything, from the gate to our shoes. We spend a lot of time just moving hoses around and making sure the younger saplings aren't getting too much sun or not enough water. Shajapur is a quiet enough spot, so you mostly just hear the birds and the occasional tractor going by on the main road. Sometimes a customer comes in looking for something specific for their yard, and we walk around until we find a healthy-looking one. It’s a lot of physical work, bending down and lifting heavy pots, but we’re used to it by now. The shed where we keep the tools is a bit messy, but we know where the shovels are. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. People just sort of know we're here at the edge of the village. It’s just us doing what needs to be done to keep the greenery going day after day. It gets dusty in the summer and a bit of a swamp when it rains, but that’s just how it is around here.
