Excess Institute

Our place is located right near Begam Bridge on W.K. Road, so it is usually pretty crowded around here. If you know this part of Meerut City, you know how much traffic there is during the day. We are in a spot that’s easy to find because of the landmarks. The building isn't brand new, but we’ve tried to make it comfortable enough for everyone who comes in. There’s a lot of coming and going since we have different groups throughout the day. Some students come from quite far, taking the bus or riding their bikes through the city chaos. We spend a lot of time just talking to people who drop in to ask about what we do. It’s not a corporate setup at all. We just have our desks, some chairs, and plenty of notebooks lying around. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just life here. We usually close up once the sun goes down and the street lights come on. It feels good to be right in the middle of everything. Being near the bridge means we see all sorts of people every day. It’s a busy life, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We focus on the work at hand and let the noise of the city stay outside the door as much as possible. It is a practical way to run a center in a place like Meerut.
