We are located at 24-563 in Chandragirinagar, which is part of the Gajularamaram area in Quthubhulapur. Our day starts much earlier than most people’s. Usually, we are up and at the shop by 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning. That’s when the big milk trucks arrive and we start unloading the plastic crates. It’s very quiet at that hour, and you can hear the crates clicking against each other from down the street. We arrange everything by type—full cream, toned, and the curd packets. The floor is usually wet from the ice or the condensation on the packets. By the time the sun starts to come up, the local delivery boys are here on their cycles to pick up their loads for the houses nearby. We have a small counter where we keep our notebooks to track the daily liters. It gets quite busy for those two or three hours in the morning, and then it settles down. We spend the rest of the time cleaning up the space and getting ready for the next day. The neighborhood is mostly residential, so we see the same faces every morning getting their milk for tea. It’s a hard routine because of the early hours, but we’re used to it now. We don't have a fancy shopfront, just the crates and the cold storage units. After we finish the morning rush, we usually sit and have a quiet breakfast before closing up.
