About Sri Rama Paddy Boiling Industry – Food & Beverages in Medak
Over at Dr.No.3-11/99 on G.K. Annaram Road, the steam is usually the first thing you notice. This is where we handle the paddy boiling, and it is a hot, humid environment most of the time. The machines are old and they make a lot of noise, but they still work well for what we need. We get loads of paddy coming in from the nearby fields, and it’s our job to get it processed. The yard is usually full of tractors and piles of husks. It’s a messy business, honestly. There’s always dust in the air and the smell of wet grain everywhere. My boots are usually covered in mud or chaff by the end of the shift. We have a small crew of workers who know the rhythm of the boilers. We don't have a fancy office; it's just a small room with a wooden table and some chairs where we talk to the farmers. Sometimes the rain slows us down and we have to cover everything up quickly with plastic sheets. It’s hard work and it isn't always pretty to look at. We just keep the fires going and make sure the paddy gets boiled properly before it moves on to the next stage. People around Annaram Road know the sound of our facility starting up early in the morning.
