Sr Bricks

Sr Bricks is tucked away in Village Shahapur, not too far from the Market Chidiya Kort. If you’re in District Mau, you probably know the area. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but we like it because there is plenty of room for the kilns. We don’t use any high-tech gadgets or anything like that. It’s mostly manual work, digging and shaping the clay. The workers live nearby, and we’ve all known each other for a long time. It feels more like a big family than a company most days. We usually start early in the morning before the heat gets too bad. By midday, we are usually taking a break under the trees. The bricks we make aren't anything special to look at, but they do what they’re supposed to do. Sometimes the market gets busy and we have to work a bit faster, but we try not to rush things too much. Making them right is just about making sure the fire is hot enough and the clay is the right texture. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. People just know we are here by the smoke from the chimneys. It’s a simple life out here in Shahapur. We just keep our heads down and keep working. If someone needs a load of bricks, they come find us near the market and we get it sorted for them eventually.
