Out in Nagla Hansi, things move at a much slower pace than in the big cities. We’re in the Raya area of Mathura. It’s a village setting, so pretty much everyone knows everyone else. Our shop isn't hard to find if you’re from this area. We have a few different phone numbers listed on our cards because the mobile signal can be a bit spotty out here. Usually, one of them will work if you keep trying. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just call us up or walk through the door when they need something. We deal with a lot of the basic supplies that people in the village use every day. The building is simple, just made of brick and mortar. We spend a lot of time sitting outside on the front porch when the weather is nice. It’s a good place to watch the world go by. We’ve got cows and tractors passing by the front more often than we see cars. It’s just a different way of doing retail than what you see in the city. We have to plan our stock carefully because getting things delivered out here takes a long time. If we run out of an item, it might be a few days before the next truck arrives. Our customers are patient.
