Hotel Madhuvan

In Krishna Nagar, our place Hotel Madhuvan has been standing for a while. It’s a straightforward building and we don't try to make it look like something it isn't. The 281004 area is usually full of life, and we are right in the middle of it. Most days start early with the sounds of the street waking us up. We take turns sweeping the front and checking on the rooms to see if anything needs fixing. A lot of folks come to this part of town for various reasons, and they just need a place that is easy to find and doesn't cost too much. We don't have a big lobby with sofas or anything, just a few chairs and a counter. The plumbing can be a bit old sometimes, but we get the local guy to come over and look at it whenever there is a leak. It’s the kind of place where we know the tea seller down the street and the shopkeepers nearby. We aren't part of some big chain, it’s just us doing our best to keep the rooms decent. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a real part of the neighborhood, that’s us. We see a lot of the same faces every month, which is nice. It makes the work feel a bit more personal when you recognize the people coming through the door.
