Shree Saraswati High School

We've been here in Ponda for quite a while now. The school is right on the main stretch and most people around here know where we are. It’s a busy place every morning when the kids start arriving and the bells go off. We mostly deal with high school students who are trying to get through their exams and figure out what to do next with their lives. It's not always quiet, but that's how a school should be. Our classrooms are basic but they do the job. Teachers here have been around for years and they know the families in the neighborhood. We don't have fancy gadgets everywhere, but we try to keep the books updated and the desks in one piece. Living and working in Goa means things move at a certain pace, and we fit right into that. Sometimes the power goes out or the rain gets really heavy, but we just keep going. It’s about getting the kids to show up on time and actually pay attention to their lessons. We spend a lot of time on the basics like math and science. Parents drop by often to ask how their kids are doing, and we usually talk right there in the hallway. It’s a simple setup. We are just a local school trying to help the neighborhood kids get an education without too much fuss. It takes a lot of work to keep everything running, but we enjoy the routine.
