Jyoti Vidyalay is in Mansa, which is a part of the Gandhinagar district. It’s a pretty straightforward place. We’ve been operating out of this location for a while now. The building is tucked away, and if you aren't looking for it, you might miss the turn. We have a few floors and the stairs are quite steep. The classrooms get a lot of light in the morning, which is nice, but it makes the rooms very warm by noon. We have a lot of students packed into the rooms, so it gets quite loud during the change of periods. Our staff mostly lives nearby, so we all know the local gossip and what’s happening in the market. We don't have fancy equipment or a big lab, just the essentials for the kids to learn. The benches are wooden and have names carved into them from students who left years ago. Sometimes the electricity goes off and we just have to keep the windows open and hope for a breeze. It’s a bit of a struggle during the peak of summer in Gujarat, but everyone is used to it. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us teachers and the principal trying to keep things organized. We spend a lot of time just talking to parents who drop by without an appointment. That’s just how things work in Mansa. We are here every morning ready to start again.
