Jay Somnath High School sits out here in Mansa, which is part of the Gandhinagar district in Gujarat. It’s a pretty straightforward place. We’ve got the local kids from the town and some from the nearby areas coming in every day. The address is just Mansa, 382845. It’s not hard to find us if you’re driving through this part of Gandhinagar. The school day starts early and we spend a lot of time just managing the classrooms and making sure the gates are open on time. There isn't any big corporate office or a marketing team here. It’s just us teachers and the staff who live around here too. We see the parents at the local market sometimes and talk about how the kids are doing. Mansa is a decent place to work and the school has its own rhythm. The building has seen many years of students passing through its halls. We keep things simple because that’s what works best for us and the families here. Jay Somnath High School doesn't try to be anything it isn't. We just provide a place for learning in this corner of Gujarat. Sometimes the power goes out or the fans need fixing, and we just deal with it as it comes. It's a real place with real people and we just keep doing our bit every single day without making a big deal out of it.
