Organic Farm

This farm is out on Aranthangi Road in Pallathivayal. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town, so it’s pretty quiet out here most of the time. We spend most of our hours outside in the dirt, dealing with whatever the weather decides to do that day. Some days it’s too hot to do much, so we start really early, right when the sun is coming up. The soil here is good, but it takes a lot of work to keep things growing properly without using any of the chemical stuff. We have a small shed where we keep the tools and some of the seeds we’ve saved from previous seasons. It’s not a very organized place, there are shovels and buckets all over the place. My boots are always covered in mud, and I’ve given up on trying to keep the office floor clean. We don’t have many visitors since we’re a bit out of the way, but occasionally someone stops by to see what we’re planting. The birds are louder than any traffic out here, which is a nice change from the city. We don’t have any big machinery, just basic stuff and our own hands. It’s hard work and your back usually hurts by the end of the day, but seeing the green shoots come up makes it feel worth the effort. It is just life on the farm, really.
