Down here at 497U K Pady Vellila, things move at their own pace. Ernad Granite Private Ltd is just a regular place in Mankada, Malapuram. We have the granite yard set up right here where everyone knows the way. It’s a green part of Kerala, so it rains a lot, which makes the stones look different when they're wet. We spend a lot of time just moving slabs around with the crane. The local guys help out with the loading and unloading every day. It’s heavy work, and your hands get rough after a while. We aren't trying to be some big corporate office with suits and ties. We just wear our regular clothes and get the job done. Malapuram is a busy place for stone, and we just happen to be one of the spots people stop by. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow roads, especially during the monsoon season. We just deal with it. The yard is usually full of dust, but that’s just how it is with granite. We stay open until late evening most days. Neighbors walk past and say hello. It’s a simple setup we’ve got. We don't talk much about goals or big ideas; we just cut the stone and make sure it’s ready. It’s just us working here in Mankada, day in and day out, doing what needs doing. It is mostly a lot of heavy lifting.
