About Surksha Hollow Block – Building & Construction Material in Mangaluru
Being near the Subrahmanya Temple means we hear the bells and the morning prayers while we’re starting our shift. It’s a nice way to begin the day at Surksha Hollow Block. We’ve been in this spot for a good bit of time now, and everyone around the temple knows us. The work isn't complicated, but it is tiring on the back. We mix the materials, fill the molds, and then line the blocks up in long rows to set. The yard gets quite hot during the middle of the day, so we usually take a break when the sun is at its peak. You’ll see us out there moving things around with the old trolley or checking on the batches we made yesterday. We don’t have a big corporate setup, just the basic tools and a bit of shed space for the equipment. People often walk by on their way to the temple and give us a nod or ask how the work is going. It feels like a real community here. We take care of the blocks because we know they're going into homes and walls right here in our own neighborhood. Sometimes the truck drivers struggle a bit with the narrow roads near the temple, but we always manage to get the loading done. It’s just us doing our thing, day in and day out, keeping the machines greased and the cement bags dry. There’s a certain rhythm to the work that feels right after all these years of making blocks for people.
