Genet Genrel Store

You’ll find us inside the Mangluru Raftakar Residency Appartment. It’s a general store meant to serve the people who live here in the building and the ones nearby. We stay open late because people often realize they’ve run out of something like milk or soap at the last minute. The shop is quite narrow, so we have to be clever with how we stack the biscuits and the cleaning supplies. It’s a bit of a squeeze when two people are trying to walk down the aisle at the same time. I’ve been running this place for a while now, and I’ve seen kids grow up and move away. We keep a tab for some of the regulars who pay at the end of the month. It’s easier that way. The lights hum a bit and the refrigerator makes a loud clicking noise every few minutes, but you get used to it. We don't carry every single brand, just the ones we know people around here actually use. Sometimes we run out of bread before the delivery truck arrives, which can be a bit of a pain for the breakfast crowd. We don't have a website or anything. If someone needs something, they just walk down from their flat or give us a call on the landline. It’s just a basic store doing what we can to keep the pantry shelves full.
