Down here near the Bombay Hotel, the noise never really stops. We are right by the Golikatta Circle in Bunder, and if you know this area, you know how busy Jumma Masjid Road gets. Our agency has been operating out of this spot for a long time. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze sometimes with all the food supplies stacked up, but we make it work. Most of the time, the air is filled with the smell of diesel and whatever the street vendors are cooking nearby. We get our shipments in early, usually before the traffic gets too bad around the circle. The walls inside could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’ve been too busy to get to it. We deal with a lot of different people, from truck drivers to local shop owners who need their stock. It's a lot of shouting back and forth and checking lists. I usually spend my afternoons sitting at the old wooden desk near the front, trying to keep the papers from blowing away when the fan is on high. It’s a gritty part of town, not like the new malls, but it’s where the real work happens. We don't have any fancy signs or anything. People know where we are because we've been here forever. It’s just a regular place doing regular business every day. We just focus on getting the orders out to whoever needs them in the neighborhood.
