Shree Brick Industrial

Shree Brick Industrial is situated in the village of Markatdoddi, right along the Bangalore Mysore Highway. Being on such a busy road means we see a lot of traffic passing by, but our focus is always on the yard. It’s a dusty place, especially when the wind picks up off the highway, but that’s just part of the life. We’ve been making bricks here for years. The process is pretty traditional, using the soil and the heat to get things right. We don’t have a big marketing team or a fancy office. Most of our meetings happen standing up near the kiln or the loading area. People stop their cars or trucks because they see the stacks from the road. We talk about the size of the bricks and how many we can get on a truck at once. Working in Markatdoddi gives us a bit of a rural feel, even though the highway is right there. It’s a balance between being accessible and having the space we need to work. Every batch is a bit different depending on the soil and the weather, so we have to stay on our toes. We don’t use any complicated jargon. If a brick is good, it’s good. We just try to make sure our neighbors and the people driving through can get what they need without any hassle. It’s just us, the clay, and the highway noise.
