Pushpagiri Higher Primary School

We are located in Koudle, which is part of the Hosagaavi area in Mandya. To get here, you have to follow the SH 84 road, the one that goes between Tirumakudalu Narasipura and Sira. It is a bit of a drive out from the main town center of Madduru. The school is a higher primary one, so we have the older kids running around the place. The grounds are quite large compared to some city schools since we are more in the rural part of Mandya. There is a lot of open space and trees, which is nice for the students during their lunchtime. The buildings are just basic concrete structures with tin roofs in some parts. We spend a lot of our day walking between the different blocks to check on the classes and make sure everything is okay. Since it is near the main road, we get a lot of trucks and tractors passing by, making a bit of a racket throughout the day. The office is where we keep the big wooden cupboards full of textbooks and the old bell we use for the periods. It is a lot of work keeping up with the maintenance of a place this size. We do not have any modern decorations, just the stuff the kids make in their art classes. It is a practical place where we just focus on the children's daily lessons.
