Sri Janani Traders

We are way out in Village Lafra, which is in the Mandla area. We’re pretty close to Kanha National Park, so we get a lot of that forest air and it’s much quieter than the big cities. We do trading here, mostly dealing with what the local village needs or what comes in from the surrounding post office area. It’s a slow-paced life compared to other places. We spend a lot of our time sitting outside the shop or checking on the goods we’ve got stored in the back. Because we’re near the park, we sometimes see tourists, but mostly it’s just the local folks from Lafra. We don’t have any fancy computers or bright lights. It’s just a wooden and brick place that’s been here for years. We know everyone in the village, so a lot of our day is spent just chatting about the weather or the crops. It’s not a big corporate operation. We just buy and sell what’s needed. Sometimes the roads get a bit rough when it rains, making deliveries a challenge. But we just take it as it comes. We’re happy with our small corner of Mandla. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy enough without being too stressful. We like being so close to nature and the park. It is a good place to be.
