Nirmal Sharma

Nirmal Sharma is located at H.No. 223/3 on M.G. Road in Mandi. This is right in the middle of the district. The house is an old one, with thick walls that stay cold even when the sun is out. We use a couple of rooms for our work. It’s a bit of a climb if you are coming from the lower part of town. Mandi is a hilly place, so you are always walking up or down. M.G. Road is usually busy with people going to the shops. We hear the temple bells in the morning and evening. It’s a nice sound to work to. We have a very basic setup. Some old computers and a lot of notebooks. Nirmal likes to write everything down. We don’t use much technology if we can help it. The winters here are quite sharp. We spend a lot on tea and firewood. It’s a local business through and through. We know the neighbors and they know us. Sometimes we sit out on the porch when the work is slow. There is always someone passing by to say hello. We’ve been here for many years. It’s a steady life. We don’t look for anything fancy. Just enough space to do our daily chores and keep things moving. It’s a quiet corner of Himachal Pradesh, and we like it that way.
