Debeshwar Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our small office is over in Sikhapali, Malkangiri, right by Nitai Majumdar’s place at M.V 16. Debeshwar Farmers Producer Company Limited was set up because a bunch of us realized we could do more if we pooled our resources together. It’s not a corporate setup at all. Mostly, it’s just a room where we meet to talk about seeds, weather, and how to get a fair price for what we grow. Malkangiri can be a tough place to work sometimes, but we are used to it. We spend more time out in the fields than sitting behind a desk. There is usually someone around if you stop by, though we might be out back or talking to a farmer down the road. We try to keep things simple and honest. Life here moves at its own pace, and our work follows that. We aren't looking to grow into some giant company; we just want the farmers here to have a bit of a better time of it. You’ll find us near the main path in Sikhapali. There’s usually a bit of noise from the tractors or people walking by, but that’s just how it is. We do our own bookkeeping and handle the heavy lifting ourselves. It’s a lot of work, but it feels right doing it for the community we grew up in. We don't need fancy stuff to get the job done right.
