National Institute Of Information Technology

The National Institute Of Information Technology is located in Malerkotla, specifically in the Adarsh Chawl area. It’s a busy place with a lot of people moving around outside. Our center is where we teach local folks about computers and IT. We don't have a massive facility; it’s a few rooms that we’ve filled with as many computers as we could fit. It gets a bit warm in there when all the machines are running at once, so we keep the fans on high. Most of the people who come here are looking to learn basics like office software or how to use the internet for work. We don’t have a lot of corporate polish. The walls are a bit plain and the furniture is just standard stuff we’ve had for years. We spend our time explaining things to students and making sure the equipment stays running. Sometimes the power goes out, which is just part of life here, and we just wait it out. It’s a very local operation. We aren't part of some big glass-and-steel office park. We’re right there in the chawl, and we like it that way because it’s easy for people to reach us. It’s just a straightforward place to pick up some technical skills without any of the fancy extras you’d find in a big city center.
