Orchid Glade Estate

Orchid Glade Estate is located at S. No. 165, Plot No. 76 in Baage Mahfooz. This is in the Malegaon area of Nasik. It’s a piece of land where we spend most of our time outdoors. The air is different out here than in the middle of the city. We deal with the land and whatever needs to be done on the estate. It’s a lot of physical work and keeping an eye on the weather. In Nasik, the sun can be very strong so we start our day very early before it gets too hot. We have a small shed where we keep our tools and take our breaks. The dirt gets under your fingernails and stays there. We don't have a website or a big office with air conditioning. People who need to find us just come to Plot 76. The neighborhood of Baage Mahfooz is mostly quiet and we like it that way. We grow things or manage the grounds depending on the season. It’s a simple rhythm of life that follows the sun. Sometimes the crops don't do what we want or the equipment breaks down and we have to spend the whole day fixing it. We don't use fancy titles or wear suits. We are just people who work the land in Maharashtra. It’s hard work but it feels right to be out there every day.
