About Jay Hind Hardware – Construction Equipment & Machinery in Malegaon
Our shop is right in Somwarpeth, over in the Gud Bazar area. It’s a place filled with the smell of metal and grease. We have rows and rows of bins with different sized screws, bolts, and nails. I spend a lot of time helping people find that one specific part they need for a repair at home. It’s usually dusty because of all the iron goods. The floor is concrete and has some stains from oil spills over the years. We open up early when the market starts getting busy. Somwarpeth has a lot of energy, especially on market days. Our counters are made of thick wood that’s been worn down by years of sliding heavy tools across them. We don't really have a system that looks organized to an outsider, but I know exactly where everything is kept. If someone wants a specific hammer or a length of chain, I can find it in a minute. We have some old shelves that probably need replacing, but they hold the weight just fine. It’s a noisy place with people shouting and trucks unloading nearby in Gud Bazar. We just stay here and sell what people need to fix their houses or machines. It’s a basic life, surrounded by hardware. We have a small stool behind the counter where I sit when there aren't any customers. It’s just how things are at Jay Hind Hardware. I have a big old key for the front shutter that weighs a lot. Sometimes the neighbor from the next shop over comes in for a chat.
