Newtech Machines & Spares is situated right at Changuvetty Junction in Kottakkal. It’s a busy spot because of the junction, so there is always traffic and noise right outside the door. We are close to the Post Office, which is handy for sending out parts. Our shop is packed with shelves from floor to ceiling. Most of the time, we are digging through boxes to find a specific bolt or a spare part that someone needs for their machine. It’s not very organized to the eye, but we generally know where everything is kept. The counter is usually cluttered with old parts and catalogues. People come in with greasy components in their hands, looking for a replacement, and we spend a lot of time talking over the counter about how to fix things. It’s a simple life. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything. Just a few of us who know about machines. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to move the stock away from the entrance. It’s a local business where you can just walk in and ask a question. We stay busy enough without needing to be flashy. It’s just us, the spares, and the people coming through the junction every day. If you need something for your machine, we usually have a way to find it in the back somewhere.
