Ernad Agriproducts Foundation

Down here in Tirurangadi, specifically in the Kakkad area, things move at their own pace. Our foundation is based out of a building numbered 219/XXIII in Malayamkulathayil. It is a bit of a mouthful to say, but local people know where it is. We spend a lot of our time dealing with different agricultural products that come in from the nearby farms. It is mostly about getting things organized and making sure stuff does not go to waste. The office isn't very big, and it gets quite dusty when the trucks go by on the main road. We have a few desks and a lot of paperwork because dealing with foundations and agriculture always involves more forms than you would expect. On most afternoons, you will find a couple of us sitting there with tea, talking to someone who stopped by to ask about seeds or how to handle a specific pest. We are not trying to change the whole world; we are just trying to make sure the work being done in the fields around here makes sense. Sometimes the equipment breaks down or the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out. It is practical work. We see a lot of the same faces every week. It is nice to be part of the community in Kakkad. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily tasks as they come, one by one.
