M I Inter College sits over in the Damdama Turjai area of Sikandra Rao. If you’re heading through Hathras, you might pass by us. It’s a fairly traditional setup we’ve got here. The building is a bit older, with those thick walls that stay somewhat cool even when the sun is beating down on the plains. We have a lot of students coming through these gates every year. Most of them are from the surrounding farming families. It’s a busy place during the day, with teachers moving between rooms and students hanging out in the corridors between bells. We don't have a lot of modern frills. We rely on good old-fashioned teaching and a lot of patience. The courtyard sees a lot of action during the breaks. You’ll see groups of kids studying together or just joking around. We try to keep the place looking decent, though the paint might be peeling in a couple of corners. It’s just the reality of running a school in a place like this. We know the struggles the families face, so we try to be practical about things. The office is always full of ledgers and old files because we still do a lot of things on paper. It’s a bit old-school, but it works for us and the people in Sikandra Rao. We’re just here to do the job every day and help where we can with our local students.
