Akik Tiles Pvt. Ltd.

Akik Tiles Pvt. Ltd. is based out in Nandasan. Our place is right on the Nandasan-Mehsana Road, near the P.O. area in Ta. Kadi. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but it’s where we have the space for the tiles. We’ve been operating here for a while. The air is a bit clearer out here than in the middle of town. We mostly deal with floor tiles and wall pieces. The yard is always full of crates. We have to be careful moving them because tiles crack easier than you’d think. My father started this and now we just keep it going. It’s a lot of physical labor. We have a small office where we keep the books, but I prefer being out where the tiles are. We see a lot of contractors and builders coming through. They usually want to see the patterns in person. Screens don't show the real color anyway. The road outside gets busy with people heading toward Mehsana. Sometimes the dust from the road gets on everything, so we are always cleaning the display pieces. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have a marketing team or anything. We just talk to people who show up at the gate. If we have what they need, we load it up. If not, we tell them when the next batch is coming. This part of Kadi is quiet at night but during the day it is all business.
