Saraswati Devi Post Graduate College

Down in Nichlaul, the pace of life is pretty slow compared to the bigger cities. Saraswati Devi Post Graduate College is located right in this area of Maharajganj, and it serves a lot of the local people who live in the surrounding villages. The college building is a large structure with lots of stairs and wide hallways. Since it is a post-graduate place, you see older students sitting in the shade between their lectures, usually holding thick textbooks or bundles of notes. The office is always full of stacks of registration forms and old files that haven't been moved in years. You can hear the birds in the trees outside the windows when it gets quiet during exam season. Maharajganj can get very hot, so the fans are always running at full speed in the library. We don't have a lot of flashy stuff here. It is just a regular college where people come to get their degrees. There is a small tea stall just down the road where students and some of the staff go during the afternoon break. The ground around the college is mostly dirt and some patches of grass that we try to keep green. It is a simple place to work and study. Most of us have been coming here for years, so we know the local routine and the people in Nichlaul very well. It is just a steady, quiet environment where the focus is on the daily schedule.
